Turns out there's an actual "Butterflower."

  1. Wow... I missed a few entries since the last time I visited here :P I really like this one... it's simple and cute, but also subtley whimsical. The tiny watering can combined with the giant flower make me wonder how this girl could grow such a large plant... it makes me think of climbing up the plant to get to another world :)

  4. Thanks, ladies:) Yeah the size of the plant vs. the watering-can added a lot to the painting's narrative. Not that I gave it much thought, but I liked how the props added a tiny bit more history to the scene, so that it was more than a little girl chillin' next to a creepy giant flower.

The signature "BF" just stands for "butterflower," which is what the piece will be labeled during the show. There's another piece I did called "points tangents" that has a "points" signature on it. I also needed a little graphic or something here to balance out the composition, since I didn't want to crop the painting and find a new frame for it:/
